First defective, second set great
Binoculars just arrived today as a gift for my wife, a birder. Item was defective. The barrels of the binocular were not aligned. Example, if you looked at a bird at 20 yards, you saw 2 birds, one about 6 inches above the other. I tried several adjustments but nothing helped. Just looking through one side or the other showed a pretty sharp image so the actual optics were pretty good. I am returning for replacement and hoping for a better pair. Btw, I am familiar with how binoculars work, over the years I have had quite a few. Right now I mostly use my Leupold 10x32. a good medium sized waterproof binocular. I will try to remember to update this after it arrives.Amazon returns were easy so far, just print a UPS return slip and let them pick the package up.Update, 12-19-2013The replacement set came quickly, return was no hassle at all.I have not had a lot of time to work with these yet (they are supposed to be a Christmas present) but they seem to focus and line up well. Image is sharp. This is a good price on a waterproof binocular. 5 stars for value. They seem to be exactly the same set as the Bear Grylls binocular but with out the orange stripe and his advertising. Also a few dollars cheaper, Some one has to pay for his commision. The only real negative is the tight and cheap case. 1 star for the case. It is hard to get the binoculars back in the case when it is attached to your belt. And the binoculars are a little stiff to fold up, as they should be, but it takes a lot more folding to get them down to the case size. For another 50 cents to a dollar the could have made a really good case that would be practical to use instead of this near useless junk. The Binoculars themselves are very good and worth the money.

Great little pair of binoculars and at a bargain price
I bought the 8x25 version of these binoculars and was immediately impressed at the quality of the optics. The view is sharp, clear, and they are well collimated with very good color correction. There is very little chromatic aberration or color fringing. My more expensive Vortex 8x42 binoculars have a wider field of view and more light gathering power, but these little H2O binoculars aren’t far behind in resolution. Eye relief is acceptable with glasses and good without them. The close focusing is about 15 feet, not as good as more expensive binoculars but fine for travel binoculars. To go along with the good optics, they’re water-proof. The case is just adequate and has no strap but this is not really a problem since I discovered that I can use the strap on the binoculars to carry them around with the case on. At about $45 they are a real bargain.

Good to go
I noticed that these reviews are missing pictures, so I attached some here. As you can see, these are nice and compact (dollar bill for size comparison in pictures), very lightweight, and seem durable. They don't unfold easily, which I like... you don't want the thing folding and unfolding while you're trying to look through them. Also included is a strap, case, lens cleaner, and manual. The strap and case are not top of the line or anything. but they get the job done. As described, the eyecups twist up and down - I included a picture of one eyecup fully extended, the other twisted all the way down.Supposedly, porro prism binos are inherently brighter than roof prism binos. I don't have a set of 8x25 porro prisms to compare these to, so I can't say for sure. I can say that these give a nice, bight, crisp image.Disclaimer, I'm not a bird watcher or any kind of expert on binoculars. This is my first set that I wanted for hiking and hunting. This is a 5-star rating not because they're the most amazing binos on the market, but because they get the job done for a great price. If you're looking for small set of rugged binos, this is a good bet.

Superb value binoculars
For the price I paid, these 8 x 25 binoculars represent an incredibly superb value. They are quite decently sharp, bright enough for daylight use, are very compact, rugged and grippy, come in a nice little soft case, and are perfect for a “spare pair” to put in the glove box of the car or truck. No, they aren’t optically equivalent to units costing up to 10 times more, but they are very pleasing to look through with a reasonably sharp image with some softening at the edges. If they are truly waterproof and fog proof (only time will tell), I will be incredibly impressed. I will report back if I find something to the contrary.

Wins out over the 10x magnification
I'm leaving this review for those that are undecided between this 8x magnification and the similar Bushnell 10x Magnification. I ordered them both, not knowing which would be better and more practical as a gift even though they are similarly priced. I viewed landscape/objects both fairly close to my property (perhaps 50yds away) and far off in the landscape (perhaps 1/2 mile) and I saw very little in difference in either the magnification or field of view diminishing. But the motion in the 10x was significant. I was able to brace my elbows on my sofa back, but if I was out in the open trying to hold it, I could see the lack of control being annoying. So the 10X went back...since I had to pay return shipping, I thought I'd leave my two cents here for what it's worth. Otherwise, like other reviews, I think they are really well made for a compact binoc and fit fine in the case. Eye cups may not have as much depth as some may like, but I found it OK. As others said, great bang for the buck.

Lightweight travel binocs that worked!
I wanted a lightweight pair of binocs that could take the rigors of travel and yet not break my heart if they were lost, stolen, or given away. I've been happy with Bushnell in the past, but usually at a higher price point. The eyepieces on this binocular were a bit loose, and I noticed because I sometimes used them with glasses and needed to adjust the eyepieces. The key selling point for this binoc is that it is small and lightweight. I wish the strap was also petite; because it is bulky.
