Perfect Little Power House Tool
For those who don't like reading long reviews, here's the short version:If you're not getting great results with a stamp, it may not necessarily be the stamp itself, but the way you're stamping and the tools you're using. I've used clear silicone low budget stamps, low budget chalk ink and ultra thin, inexpensive index cards and have gotten GREAT results (even on finely detailed stamps) using this stamp press. When I later upgraded to high quality supplies, the results were even more amazing! Not only that, but I found that no matter what type of ink I use (pigment, dye, chalk, oil) it comes off easily with either a baby wipe or a bit of water on a microfiber cloth as long as I wipe it off right away.Would I recommend this product? Absolutely. (The abbreviated review ends here.)-------------------------I now own three stamp press tools; each one is different to the next. Out of all of them, I like this one best which is crazy since it has the simplest design and is also by far the least expensive.I initially got into stamping because I wanted to get better at colorizing adult coloring books. With a stamp, I could re-print the image over and over to try out various supplies, color combos and techniques without copy right infringement or the fear of "ruining" a color book. When I first started, I didn't realize that it takes the right combination of stamp, ink, paper and stamping tools to get a sharp, complete image on the first try (or at all), but I quickly learned the hard way. It was at that point that I discovered stamp presses/platforms/positioners. I was intrigued by the idea that I could re-stamp the same image over and over without moving the stamp or the paper it if I didn't get a good imprint on the first try.My other stamp presses are a little clumsy to use and I find them difficult to work with unless I'm sitting at a table. Although a magnetic base is useful to keep the paper in place, magnets are just one more thing that I have to contend with (and potentially lose) and even so, I STILL wasn't getting good results. This tool looks and feels like a heavy duty clear plastic CD case without the piece that holds the CD in place, but it's a little bigger than a CD case. There's a small lip that goes around all four sides. The lip keeps your paper in place without any magnets, but of course, you can still use a little piece of washi tape for added security.I have been using Amazon Basics brand unlined index cards in both the 3 x 5 and 4 x 6 size with this stamp press with great success. When using the larger cards, I have to trim just a teeny bit off the length with my paper trimmer, but when I do, it fits in the base like a glove and doesn't move from side to side. When it comes my other stamp presses, unless you use them on a hard, flat surface, you're not going to get a good stamp impression no matter how many times you re-ink and re-stamp. That's not the case with this one. I set up my paper and stamp(s) like usual, ink up and press the lid down. While everything is still in place and the lid is still down, I PICK UP THE STAMPING PLATFORM VERY CAREFULLY AND SQUEEZE THE STAMP(S) FROM BOTH SIDES ALL AROUND and -- Voila! -- a great stamp impression. In the event that I didn't get quite enough ink on the stamp the first time, I just open the press, re-ink where it's lacking and repeat the process. I can't pick up my other stamp platforms and do that; they are too thick and inflexible. Additionally, in order to work properly, they MUST remain stationery. Last but not least, in the event that you have a hidden low spot somewhere on the base, you still might not get great results. This stamping tool is great for stamps that are up to 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" in size, but I would love to have a larger version of this, too.

Great bargain for the money.
So far it has really solved some of my problem of getting my stamp in the right place, not getting enough ink the first time, using more than one color and things like that. Sturdier than I expected.

Good value!
This stamp positioner is on the small side but it is good. Good for small cards or gift tags etc. As you can see I have used washi tape to hold my card in place and it works well. So no need for magnets. I am just getting started with stamping so this is budget friendly. It came scratch free and clean. This is compact, so it is very portable. Decent quality for an affordable price.

Love the color of grid lines! Bright not gray or black stands out better to me.
I like this. The only suggestion I would have is for a lip/ handle to lift cover for any one with arthritic hands.

Alternative to the Misti Stamping tool
I purchased this stamp positioner as an alternative to the Misti Stamping tool, which has a higher cost point. As a beginner crafter I wanted to try the stamping technique out before making a more costly investment with a Misti. It worked out well for me. I do recommend this product! Thanks Amazon!

It works for me, an amateur card maker.
Works as I expected it too. Wish it was big enough for 5x7 card with out bending it, but it does work and hasn’t damaged anything yet.

Good
Good to have if you use smaller rubber stamps.
