Does everything the description said.
I could not be any more happy with my purchase. I made my first milkshake today. The mixer is very easy to operate and the stir stick was easy to install, as was the cup. The mixer is light weight to pick up, an issue since I use a walker., but not cheap looking or feeling.. The mixing quality was excellent and the finished product delicious. I would like to have a larger milkshake, but I probably had all I should have!

They don't make 'em like they used to!
I have a nice Hamilton Beach Model 30 mixer from the 40's, built like a tank and has worked flawlessly for decades, and it heavy. and solid. I thought a new one would be better for everyday use, so I got this. This does the job, but the shaft is much flimsier and moves in the socket. The tip and cup holder are plastic, not metal like the older one, It has a plastic switch as well. It does mix well and looks nice.. Time will tell how it holds up. Those plastic parts probably won't last 80 years like the old model 30.

Terrible at making milkshakes
I bought this drink mixer to make milkshakes and it is terrible at making milkshakes. There are a number of reasons why this product is horrible:1) The biggest problem is that this mixer doesn't mix well. No matter how much milk I put in the shake, the mixing wand just spins at top speed while the ice cream sits around the edges of the cup. Even when I move the mixing wand around the edges of the cup, the ice cream just sits there. In order to get the ice cream to mix correctly, I have to fully remove the cup from the mixer, move the ice cream around the cup with a spoon, and then return the cup to the mixer over and over again. This mixer has one job: to mix ice cream, and it fails completely at this task.2) The mixer head rotates backwards to allow you to attach and remove the cup. However, when the head is rotated backwards it doesn't lock in place. This means that you need a 3rd hand to hold the mixing head up while you carefully remove the cup and mixing wand from the mixer. This situation is hugely inconvenience and usually causes a mess to be made all over the counter.3) The power cord is too short. It's about 2 feet long.4) The mixer is not weighted well, causing the machine to be too top heavy when a cup is attached. The mixer needs more weight in the bottom of the machine so that it's not so prone to tipping.5) The Hamilton Beach label was not applied correctly to the mixer. It's got wrinkles and bubbles under the label. The label was also partway removed from the mixer when I first opened the box it came in.Overall, the build quality of this mixer is well below what I was expecting. I would never recommend this mixer to anyone under any circumstances. This Hamilton Beach mixer is absolutely terrible at mixing anything except two liquids. I am going to donate this thing to Goodwill and go back to using an immersion blender to make my milkshakes.

Very light. Feels really cheap.
Way too small. Before I even opened the box, I could tell that this was junk. The cup is smaller than the ones used on real milkshake makers and the whole thing feels incredibly cheap and shoddy. It's going back immediately. Spend less, you get less. My mistake. The following is my updated review from two days later...I decided I didn't want to bother sending this back and canceled the return. I figured I have it so why not try it. We'll, it's still pretty cheap feeling but I had a half pint of ice cream, from my Creami (which can make a decent shake on its own, but not in any quantity) and threw it into the cup, with some milk and sweetened vanilla syrup, plus a ripe banana. It, definitely made a milkshake, although it didn't do well on the banana. Maybe longer mixing time next time. I upgraded my review from one star to three as the cup STILL isn't as large as what I remember when I used to go to the local drug store, as a kid, and get a large drink cup that the soda jerk would fill to the top and then leave the rest (yes, there was always some left over) for me to finish. Plus, it just feels so cheap. Sadly, there's very little mid-range pricing on these machines. If you want a larger capacity cup, and sturdier construction, you're going to spend big (thus a main reason for keeping this one for better or worse). As stated, this DOES make a milkshake. The two speeds are a plus, as are the suction cups that keep it stable. I feel better about it now and I'm glad I kept it. So... how long will it last? I guess I'll find out.

Bought as a father's day gift. My dad LOVES it. He's in his 70s and can easily use it. Great product.
