Q: Will this clamp damage my new macbook pro screen? it seems exceedingly tight. i am worried it will damage the screen.

For a while I had it clipped carefully on the edge of my nice $1000 monitor and it was fine (and I liked the light options). But then I took it to work and the next day I clipped it directly to the screen in a hurry before a meeting (very dumb of me) and ruined my screen. So it's very tight which is fine... unless you clip it directly to the screen! You have to carefully attach it to the edge. I learned the hard way.

Q: will the ring light be seen on your glasses?

It’s all about angles. If the light is anywhere close to the webcam you are using (like clipped to the laptop screen), it will reflect off your glasses and into the webcam lens. (Try this test: in a darkened room, open a blank word processing page at full screen so you have a bright, white screen. look directly into your webcam from a distance of about 18”, with your face in the same plane as your screen. There’s the light bouncing off your glasses and back to the webcam.) Avoid the reflection by placing light at least a foot above the webcam and the light’s reflection will shine below the webcam. Unfortunately, that’s the nature using a laptop and not always having a different spot to affix a light designed like this. In my home office, I mounted my light on a tripod extended to about 5-1/2’ above the floor. Great there - no reflection. But if I am mobile, (isn’t that the function of a laptop?) oh well . . .

Q: Does the light have to be constantly plugged in to work or does it have an internal battery that can be recharged?

Yes, it needs to be plugged in to work (usb power supply), it does not support charging. Zoom lighting is very convenient to use.

Q: Lumens aren't listed in the description, does anyone know how many lumens this is (the most important part of a light)?

You’d actually have to put a light meter on it. It’s does have hi/med/low at ~2400K and same at ~4000K
