The Best of Nancy Drew Classic Collection: The Secret of the Old Clock/The Bungalow Mystery/The Mystery of the 99 Steps: 01

My mom read Nancy Drew books as a girl and gave them to me when I was a kid. I bought a set for my daughter when she was young. This book is the first one for my granddaughter. She enjoyed them. we will be buying her others.

I've already finished reading the three stories in this book. A few chapters a night is a good way to relax before bed. I used to do this as a teenager and now I'm reliving the old times. It's like a peek at the past. The book arrived quickly and is in excellent condition.

I'm French, and I read the Nancy Drew - Alice Roy novels in French when I was young. I bought some of them, in French (in the original printings of the sixties) and this one in English. The translation in French is better than the original in English, and the old illustrations were far better in French books.So, I'll keep reading it in French.

My 10 year old loved loved loved this book.I am pleased as I loved Nancy Drew when I was her age and I was worried it would be too old fashioned. It did take a while to arrive. The book was in very good condition.

I chose this rating because I like mystery books, and because I have read some Nancy Drew books before. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves mysteries, and doesn't mind reading things that were written in the age where there were no mobile phones and computers.

It made a perfect present and a beginning for mysteries in the teen world. It also had a romantic element.

Struggling through the first book with my 6 year old. Frankly it's pretty dull. It's probably a touch too old for her, but it's more the subject matter, finding a missing will, that drags on. Plus as is often the case with older children's fiction, the language is very dated. It's a shame as I have very fond memories of reading Nancy Drew but it must have been the later, more updated books, as this is pure tedium.
