AcuRite Portable Digital Thermometer for Indoor or Outdoor Temperature with Carabiner Clip (00333)

I had my concerns when I read the negative reviews, but so far mine works great. I do wish that it were smaller and ran on a AAA battery. I can't fault them on that. I am fine with it not having a backlight. Keep it simple I say. If you are truly concerned about the battery compartment not being waterproof, simply cover it with a piece of masking tape which is waterproof and can be removed without leaving residue.

I use it for hiking. Very precise, but it takes a while to adjust from sunshine or body heat. This is normal for any type I've used.

If you plan XC skiing or back country snow maybe look for one that measures a bit colder. The readout is nice and product is lightweight, which I really like. I like too that it keeps the min and max for the past 24 hours. I just wish it went a little colder as last weekend started out at 1°C at the parking lot, but warmed up a good 15°C before we got back. I might go out when even colder, but maybe -4°C should be a hard limit! It is a little bigger than I expected too, but I do like the display size.

Battery falls out easily when bumped. I tried to hold it in with some tape. It causes disruptions in the contacts of the battery and doesn't stay on unless you fiddle with it. Sorry I bought it. Should have returned it in the time frame allocated.

This is the only product of its kind (a thermometer that can be attached to a backpack) that I could find on Amazon.People complain about its accuracy, but they complain about that on EVERY thermometer, so I paid it no mind.I subtracted a couple of stars because the font on the instructions are so small you'll need a microscope to read them.

We have our own little micro climate here where the temperature can change depending on the side of the street you are on or the slightest change in elevation.Its really nice to know what the high and the low is and current temperature at a glance.I paid for what I called a novelty clip on thermometer, you know the tube with the red liquid inside.I liked it because I kinda always wanted but never really needed one. Same price as this one. This device is much more useful So 5-stars!

This sturdy thermometer is perfect for my little greenhouse. It reminds me to open the windows if it gets too warm. Just remember to hang it out of direct sunlight otherwise the temperature is inaccurate.
