Better homes and gardens new cook book

After Mom passed away her cookbook went to my older brother. So, after finding the same cookbook on Amazon I had to buy it. This is the same cookbook that I and so many others learned to cook from.It was nicely priced shipped quickly and arrived sooner then I expected, safe and well packaged. It was in much better shape than Moms was in last tine I saw it. Almost perfectly untouched other than the expected yellowing of the paper. You can not beat the 5 ring binder cookbook. Lays flat so no more loosing pages. Yet, to be fair, some things have changed since this cookbook was penned back in the 1960’s. What hasn’t changed… the recipes I used to cook for my family when I was still in my teens. Now, I was able to make the first recipe I cooked for them for my wife. Beef Stroganoff, and it was as wonderful as I remember it being.

I just realized this book was published in 1968 the same year I became a newlywed, was the birth of my first born and when I aquired this cookbook . This book had everything I needed to know about cooking, roasting temperatures, measurements, what is rare, med and well done, how to cut up a chicken, shows you were all the cuts of meat come from on beef, pork and lamb, how to make a turkey dinner, mac and cheese, chicken soup your favorite all American foods. I still have this book on my counter even as a few pages are lose, the binder is separating and the pages are turning a tan color from age as it's 56 years old now, but it's still my go to recipe book.I bought this one vintage publication for my granddaughter who is going off to college now because I know this book will provide her with the tried and true basics of cooking. I told her the back story and she is excited for it to arrive!I am a big fan of Better Homes and Gardens they always make quality products I can count on!

Was in the condition as said. Slightly worn. Was the exact edition my mother gave me as a wedding gift in my 20's and I am 70 no with all of my favorite recipes in it.
