Monitor looks great, but I can only get it to power on with the supplied AC adapter
I've been looking for a good, mobile secondary 15" monitor for my 15" laptop mainly for when I'm doing video editing. My main requirements were a good screen, easy connectivity, but above all, mobile as I travel a lot. This display is actually really good, which makes writing this review even more sad. The problem is, I can't power it with my laptop at all. The only way I can get it to work is if I power it with the supplied AC adapter. This may not be the end of the world for some, but for me, it's a pain as I want something that my laptopcan power and supply a signal to. I don't mind if I have to use two cables to do so (HDMI + USB for power, etc), but unfortunately, I have to plug this in to the wall. It's also just about as bright as the 15" display on my Razer Blade.Another gripe is the inputs for the device are on the left side of the monitor, so if I was going to keep this, I'd use a right angle adapter for the mini HDMI port, but I was also able to tidy them up pretty easily as long as I left a little gap from the monitor to the desk.If this could be powered via USB with my laptop, I'd definitely give it 5 stars. I'm bummed...Edit: I was able to power it via USB. You must have a highly powered USB port. My laptop CAN power it, but it's very intermittent. The brightness setting effects it's ability to stay on. Sometimes when I plug it in via my laptop is port, it'll turn off for a second then power cycle over and over. Sometimes it'll stay on. Sometimes it'll stay on, but when I play a full screen video, it shuts off. This leads me to believe that the power management system is not great.Still torn whether or not I'm going to keep it as the display itself is really good. I ordered a USB C hub, so I'm hoping the power output from that will be enough to suffice. If so, I'll definitely change the rating.I'll update once I complete my testing.EDIT:Ok, I went toe-to-toe with this thing for a while and I ended up sending it back. It was a huge hassle trying to get it to stay on - juggling brightness settings, etc.I ended up getting the GeChic 1503h monitor and it is AMAZING! Comes with a plastic cover. Damn near as bright as my Razer Blade 15" (2018) IPS screen and most importantly I can power it with ONE USB slot on my laptop. It even has a built in stand that can be adjusted. By far the best mobile HDMI monitor out there.

A pretty nice display! (15.6" version) Not lightweight, small stand.
I have the 15.6" version, and I use it to extend my display on two devices. For each device I needed a port adapter to allow me to utilize the included HDMI cable. I have used the monitor with a 2012 MacBook Pro w/the retina display (using a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter), and a Dell Chromebook 14 (using a USB-C to HDMI adapter). Interestingly, I get different results regarding image quality. On my Dell Chromebook 14 (Inspiron 5482) the extended image on the UPerfect monitor is even slightly crisper than on the great screen of the Dell Chromebook 14 itself. When used with my MacBook Pro the text is a bit soft, but still perfectly readable. It's not an inexpensive monitor for the size, but I am happy with the value for the money I paid. (Over the past few days the price for us consumers has just increased by about $30 on this monitor. I'm going to chalk that up to the more aggressive tariff policies just announced by the U.S. government.) In my usage, I don't do image editing, and I am not a gamer, so my requirements for a monitor are not as rigorous as other folks may have. The screen is non-glare. The image seems flicker-free and illuminated evenly all over. Color rendition is good and the blacks are sufficiently saturated, which can be a weak spot on some monitors. Off-axis viewing is great also. At 2.3lbs the monitor is not exactly lightweight, so you know you're not getting a minimally constructed toy. You get a robust metal frame, and rest of the weight has to come from the electronics packed inside. The provided aluminum stand is well-constructed and sturdy. It supports the monitor well, but I consider it to be too narrow for this 15.6" display. I chose to repurpose the stand and use it with my iPad, for which it is perfect. For this display I bought a sturdy adjustable Kabcon stand that has a wider stance and greater adjustability: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DD7G77L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I've been using this portable display for less than a week. There seem to be no technical glitches or usability issues other than what I already talked about. I would confidently recommend this portable monitor to anyone - to a good friend, or to a stranger.

Very poor design.
Pros: This monitor has a nice screen. The image quality is great, it matches my Dell laptop 4K monitor.Cons:1) Overbuilt. The unit is very heavy (2-3 lbs?), almost as much as my laptop and not something I want to add my briefcase. I’m not sure why the built the frame with so much metal, but it seems overbuilt and too heavy, especially for a unit that does not include a built-in stand or cover.2) No built-in stand and no mounting holes! Hard to believe with so much metal and weight that there is no built in stand, and no way to attach it to standard vesa monitor mounts. There are no mounting holes at all on the back. The unit comes with a heavy tablet/phone stand from another manufacturer. The stand holds the monitor up, but it is not a sturdy arrangement: the 15” monitor is supported by two points 3 or 4” apart - if someone pushed on the side of the monitor it might fall off the stand. I was constantly rearranging the monitor and the stand every time I changed cables or turned the unit on.3) USB power does not work from all laptops - I didn’t from mine anyhow.4) Cables attach from the left side - very messy. All the ports are on the left side of the monitor. Which means cables in your face - no way to hide them. Also I wanted to use it as a secondary monitor, but I usually put the secondary monitor to the right of my main monitor. With cables sticking out the left side, it’s difficult to put this monitor side by side with another.5) And, the cables don’t even fit right into the ports - the power supply cable does not go all the way into the port, so it looks sketchy - especially if you have to look at it all the time. The power supply cable also fits into the audio port I discovered — good thing it didn’t fry the panel.
