Q: Would these be suitable for tower speakers listed at 34.4 lbs? I don’t want the front of the foam to compress too much and tilt the speaker forward.

Frankly, I don't think this foam can support that kind of weight. The speakers will tilt. The small studio monitors I use weigh about 10-12 pounds and that is all I feel comfortable with.

Q: how would these work for the 8 inch jbl lsr 308 studio monitors?

I would think the would work fine. Those JBLs seem to be around the same size as my Alesis monitors.
