Almost gave up on these...BUT
Read so many reviews from electricians and electrical engineers, electronic wizards etc. All clueless, useless comments. BUT, finally thanks to the gentleman known as "amazon customer" who posted his review in 2022, and I almost didnt see it as it was one of the very last reviews, I got the switch to work perfectlyy the way it should. Hope he doesnt mind that I am re-posting what he wrote here;To get the switch to turn the LED on with the power.Connect theWhite wire to the line feeding powerYellow and Black wire to the positive side of whatever your running.COLOR WIRE (Red, Green or Blue) to the negative side of what your running. Or directly to a ground. This puts the switch in control of when the yellow (led power wire) gets current.* I havnt found a way to run an off and on color you'd need the upgraded switch that comes in a 3 pack for that I believe.Customer imageThank you thank you thank you Mr Amazon customer for making my day!

Positive Ground Systems
I used this switch to operate the courtesy lights for a 1940 vehicle that is wired for Positive earth. The representatives of DaierTek were very responsive and informative in answering questions prior to purchasing. The switch works perfectly with Positive ground vehicles because the LED and Switch portions of the toggle are independent of one another. The Switch is therefore able to be wired to work with positive ground because the Switch is not polarity specific (i.e., the Positive side of the battery can be wired to the ground side of the Switch, and the Negative side of the battery can be wired to the positive side of the Switch). While the LED portion is polarity specific, it is internally separated from the Switch portion of the toggle (i.e., the internal workings of the Switch and LED are independent from one another) so the LED can be wired at the same time using negative earth by running a separate wire directly from the Positive side of the battery to the positive pin for the LED power on the back of the toggle, then completing the circuit by picking up the Negative side of the battery anywhere else in the wiring system (which is not difficult on a Positive ground system). I had previously purchased an intriguing "touch" switch from Ulincos (that also dimmed) but discovered that the wiring (internally) to that switch would not accommodate a Positive ground system (the switch portion could not be wired differently than the LED portion). I am extremely happy with this toggle switch, not only the reasons stated above, but also for the amperage rating for this toggle switch.

Led Wiring Snafu
The low rating is due to their snafu on the internal LED wiring. The LED colors are true Red, Green and Blue. They are dark in color and also nice and bright. Easily seen even in day light.I was hoping to use two LEDs on a switch to get two different colors depending on if the switch was on or off. I was going to run the acc (+) which is always on when the key is on to the blue to be able to see the switch in the dark, then add green or red to get a mixed color to indicate the switch was on. To do that the LED's would need a negative common. For some unimaginable reason, the designers of this switch used a positive common - making what I desire impossible unless I am willing to add a couple of relays and extra wiring. They do provide nice instructions - but they are tiny. I had to scan it, save it to my computer, then print them out on a full sheet of paper. I have included blown of pictures of the instructions for everyone to be able to see what I'm talking about.Update: They are really nice switches. I went the relay module route, but played with one on my bench and came up with a more simple way to get the job done with a simpler high power relay. The blue LED is passive. If you have blue on and add red or green, you get a bright easy to see red or green. The colors do not mix.I have added a picture of the wiring diagram and below is a link to the easy to use 30 amp relay module. A friend and I have used several of these relays. There is no extra electronics but they are reverse voltage protected on the input and an on indicator LED. The also have top grade connectors. They are only single pole single throw contacts. That is ok for 90% of applications. It just means the contacts close when power is applied. There are no contacts that are closed when power is off.If you want to use several of these switches, I suggest using the Acc (+) to kick on one 30 amp relay. Then instead of the relay in the schematic, wire your load where it shows the relay contacts.CZH-Labs 12V Passive SPST-NO 30Amp Power Relay Module Board.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UA3O1IO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Great compact switch, appears well made...
I ordered 3 of theses LED lighted toggles and love the fit/finish/function of them. My only slight complaint thus far is the bezel markings for on and off. The on marking appears laser etched on both sides but I can slightly see an engraved OFF under the ON marking. All three toggles display this mistake. How you choose to wire the switch will determine which position is on or off depending on N.O. or N.C. , (Normally Open or Normally Closed), so no bezel markings would be better than ambiguous markings. For the price and for my purposes they are unbeatable. Love how the LED indicator ring changes colors and how easy it is to wire to light them as you wish. I'm using one of mine in a "sidewinder" bracket I fabbed to fit on my gearshift to function as a reverse lockout switch for my T-56 six speed. LED is green when locked out, red when not. Super fast shipping, great price very pleased. 👍
