I've used shea butter in cosmetic preparations for some years and am really impressed with this product. I noted that some reviewer mentioned the strong aroma. This is consistent with natural, unrefined shea butter, which has a naturally strong, slightly nutty and earthy aroma. Essential oils can easily be added to mask the natural notes if preferred. The consistency is smooth, mixing well with other oils ingredients. I look forward to making more products with this lovely shea butter!

Great for body and hair. Smelled a little like palm oil which made me wonder whether it was as pure as claimed. But it did a good job of moisturising so can't complain. Tend to go hard in cold weather, but my room is always warm so worked for me

Once I peeled off the bubble wrap I noticed that the lid was not sealed shut and the butter had almost expanded and forced the lid open or it was over filled in the first place. Sadly unusable as the petrol / oil smell was so strong, I believe it had gone rancid. Shea butter is suppose to have a smoked small but be pleasant at the same time, even with essential oils added I couldn’t hide it. It’s a nice texture and seems a good product but the packaging might have let it down, also it would be better if it was not in a Clear plastic pot to help protect it from uv light. Will ask for a new pot and see if this one is better.

This tub has been lasting me ages. A little goes a long way. I have very sensitive skin, but this product is great and causes no allergic reactions or itchiness.Holds its solid structure well, but can melt in your hand pretty easy once rubbed between your palms.Great value for money! And a bigger tub than I was expecting!

When they deliver a fresh batch this brand is a cut above the other shea butters I've bought on Amazon, it's more pure, smooth, and doesn't harden as others do.But was disappointed with the last 1kg they sent - it was more yellow, didn't mix well in my usual body cream recipe, and had a different smell - obvious that it was an old batch. Not fair to treat customer loyalty with lower quality.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this as I was concerned about its effectiveness, the texture, potential grittiness and aroma. I need not have worried - it's all fine. Even though I have also purchased the ingredients to make it into a whipped cream, I won't bother doing this as it works perfectly well straight from the tub without the additives and all the faff. The warmth of your hands or its application to the skin will soften it in seconds. The smell is not at all unpleasant. I am caring for 2 elderly parents who both have skin conditions that require deep moisturisation. Until I discovered this, the only creams that seemed to work came in a small pot and were prohibitively expensive. They both have rated this organic shea butter as equally effective - at a fraction of the cost. Given the quantity they use, this is definitely a product that I will be buying regularly. If you are considering purchasing it, then I would certainly recommend that you give it a go. Shea butter is a fantastic natural moisturiser.

Great natural Shea Butter. Very creamy. Dosent melt in palms very well but once on skin melts and skin is softened. Smell isn't unpleasant

The smell is quite bad ,more than others that I bought.Smells petrol .
