Hand held Chain saw is a must...

To be Honest, I have only used this a short while so I cannot speak to its longevity. I selectedthis one as it has a case. Withtwo bats a charger and misc, dodads I like to keep things together or I will lose them. Anyway, I have a Husquevarna 20" saw and it grabs branches and pulls them into the saw. This little saw is great. I can hold the branch in one hand and cut with the other. It goes right through them as expected and the utility of this thing is just exactly what I needed. The battery did not last forever but I had to be going for an hour straight and then it just cuts out. After thinking about that for a bit, that is a safer thing to do quit as opposed to running slower than required. The charger is like a cell phone so you just plug it in. The only complaint is thatif you are using bare hands the switch can pinch your hand when releasing it so I put on my gloves I should have done anyway. Great addition for a speedy yarrd clean up and trimming off a 2: dead brans etc you can make a clean cut and the weight is light so you can easily work over your head.

Works perfectly, cuts up to 5 inch branches. I wish there was a cheaper option without batteries.

I bought this kit as I use Makita at home and wanted a 6 inch pruning chainsaw, with an automatic oiler. I've now used this chainsaw twice, and one of those times was for breaking down quite a few branches up to 5 inches in diameter. In all the cases this worked really well. The chain could use a sharpening to start it off, but given the price I'm not going to complain. It chattered a bit against smaller branches, where my 12 inch chainsaw wouldn't struggle at all. Chain came tight, and the automatic oiler was an added bonus. This thing is super light - it doesn't feel like it will hold up, but the plastic is durable and the tool is metal where it should be. Handheld design is great and the blade guard works as intended. I didn't even try the batteries. I have 6 genuine OEM Makita batteries and I'm not about to mix and match warranty-breaking batteries on my genuine Makita tools. If I could recommend one thing, it would be offering an option to just buy the bare tool and save some money on the batteries.

Hand saver for sure, works great

Works well. I used it to prune a few old and established lilacs and to clean up the base of many pine trees to get the lower branches off the ground and cleaned up mainly for fire mitigation. Every bit helps, right? I normally manually prune the lilacs, but my arthritis is starting to take a toll on my hands. This little saw works slick. Charges fairly quick, is sharp, and the tension is easy to adjust as it does loosen the more you use it. I also used it to break down my debris for the burn pile. Some stuff was larger than I should have used it on, but I simple cut through one side and then rolled it over and cut through the other side. Very happy with this saw.

Most Fun for Fifty Bucks

We recently moved to a new house on many acres of oak and cedar trees, along with yaupon. After having used it for a month, cutting off dead limbs or limbs below head height, thick yaupon bushes, or, after using a full-size chainsaw to cut down a small tree, to use this to reduce the tree in manageable sizes. It's been great. Easy to use, light, last sufficiently long enough. And fun, it's a man's toy for sure. But treat it with respect, it removed my leather glove thumb tip in a blink - so glad my skin is intact. I wish I had a belt holster to keep it on me while working outside. The biggest complaint is that it must be operated right hand due to the safety button, and some times it's difficult to maneuver to use it right.

The Perfect Homeowner's Chainsaw

What a great deal! If you're looking for an easy to use chainsaw to clear up branches and small trees, don't be intimidated. Using full PPE and watching some YouTube videos, I very easily cleared up many small trees/vines/branches around the yard. As noted in other reviews, the battery came with enough charge to get to work right away, which was a nice surprise. The only issue I had was user error as I was learning on it, and did get the chain stuck a little bit. Practice on smaller trees/branches first to get used to it.Size and weight wise, it is definitely enough for one hand. Safety wise I'd still recommend being very careful or using two hands to get a handle on. Follow the instructions in terms of how big a tree you want to cut. Unless you're an expert arborist, it's likely best to stick to 4 inches and smaller.Great device for the price!

Love it - bought the 8-inch version a few days after loving my time with the 6-inch

I did not know mini chainsaws existed until I asked AI how to stop getting blisters on my hands when pruning and shearing. I did some research, and I decided on the SeeSii brand. I had a great time breaking down a pine tree and a piece of oak tree with this chainsaw. Who would've thought something the size of a cordless screwdriver would be so satisfying? It's not perfect. The chain comes loose once in a while. It requires cleaning and oiling despite anything the specs say. The batteries it comes with only last for 25 minutes at most. If you're doing thick cuts or sawing hardwood, your battery life probably will be less. I personally got a lot of joy out of using this chainsaw. In fact, I doubled-down and bought the 8-inch version. The battery life is double in the SiiSee 8-inch model and those extra two inches definitely help. I think any person could cut with this chainsaw. It's fun. You can make faces with it in logs too. See my attached pictures. Its main drawbacks are battery life and overheat protection. If you give it too hard of a job to do, you have to wait 20 seconds at least for it to cool down. I've had less overheat protection with the 8-inch model by the way. Oh, one other thing - the included chainsaw oil - it was leaked out in both of my SeeSiii orders. Nevertheless, it was hardly a deal breaker.Update a couple weeks later: This mini chainsaw requires maintenance. Your chain will jam/fall off the mini chainsaws teeth and your chain tightening screw will slowly strip. However, I have no doubt all mini chainsaws need be tuned and maintained. Just don't think working with one of these is going to be all rainbows and butterflies ;-)
