I'm a beginner gardener. so I ended up doing what I guess most do when they go to a big box store, and purchased one of the seed starting kits with the peat pots. A big mistake. My first set of seedlings sprouted fine, but soon after mold started to develop on the trays. Not only did that end up killing them off, but it seems I have a very bad allergy to mold.So I had been watching YouTube videos from epic gardening and ended up looking at their products. So I decided to go all in and ordered the works that included lights, trays and these 6 cell starter trays, and they've exceeded my expectations.The sturdy construction ensures they won't bend or crack, even after multiple uses. The large drainage holes and side slits make transplanting seedlings effortless and promote healthy root development. And best of all no MOLD!They fit perfectly into standard 10x20 trays, maximizing space without any gaps. and I could leave the seedlings in till they were a decent size before up potting. Overall, these trays are a fantastic investment for any gardener looking for reusable and efficient seed starting solutions.

I raise a lot of cuttings. Thousands, in the spring, for my club sale. So I have seen various forms of seed and cutting rooting trays, and this is my favorite. It’s too pricey to use for huge amounts of plants, but a very good thing to have if you are just making a dozen for yourself. The side vents make all the different, as plants need air to be happy. I recommend them. Since they are reusable, you can run them thru the dishwasher. Very nice, and the plants really love them.

I purchased these to plant alongside my bootstrap farmer pots. I wanted to see which would do better this season. Overall, the plants in these grew better. Bottom watering worker better than the pots. In the plants that I "intentionally" left to grow too long under the grow lights, the roots grew out of the holes instead of becoming root bound. They all transplanted well without issue.

I have used all sorts of seeds starting pots and none of them lasted longer than one season. These epic gardening trays are a game changer. They are very durable and I can tell that they will last forever. Starts are very easy to remove from the trays.

While I will acknowledge that the cell size is listed 1¼x1¼I MUST POINT OUT that these are NOT what we normally think of as a 6 cell tray .... and most do not look further expecting some some strange sizingThey are literally halfs of a normal 12 cell tray .... exactly half (due to their design the cells are a tad bigger than in normal 12 cell unitsBUT if you are expecting a normal 6cell you will be disapointed if you do not look close enough to find the cell dimensionsAfter having bought dozens of 6 & 12 cell tray inserts .. I didn't verify as it says 'fits standard trays' ... well they do, you just need twice as many making these very expensive.They are solid, I bought them to test them out .... I do not care all that much for the big finger opening , a bit big for seedling mix ... but had been unhappy with the 6 cell trays I had (love my 12 cell ones, so didn't need more half 12s)[EDIT:] the hole is not as troublesome as I thought, though when filling have the bottom covered .... once the plants have lots of root structure it pudhes out nicely from the hard smooth solid cells.I will keep them and use them, lesson learned , so my review is less about the actual item as much as it is about 'how it is presented' and therefore by star rating will stay till they make that more clear then I'll add one ... can't do 5 due to price

Love that there’s multiple colors available. These feel sturdy and I appreciate that the dirt doesn’t cling to the outside so they’re easy to clean. I love the big hole at the bottom to help get everything out. I don’t see any reason why I’d need to stop using these at any point as they seem like they’ll last.I do hate that there aren’t matching colors from this brand for the trays or to up-pot to as I refuse to buy anything that isn’t a color I like so I needed to buy the rest from other companies. I also wasn’t able to buy a humidity dome for this size of their cells as they only had them available for other sizes. But that’s unrelated to this specific product and more a gripe with the brand’s other products.

These starter pots are rock solid and heavy duty. No way you could wear them out or break them. Very well made. Someone at this manufacturer takes pride in the product. Well done!

epic has built a better product! slots for water to gt to roots, and the bottom hole is large enough to push the seedling out. Lasts ans lasts. Mine withstood top rack of dishwasher.
