Hi yes it comes with a uk plug.. It is illegal to sell any domestic electrical product without a 3 pin plug fitted

Q: Does the timer still continue to work if the heater is unplugged ( e.g. for safety)?

I use this heater with a smart plug. When the smart plug is off the fire's built in timer does not work. therefore if the fire is unplugged for safety reasons the timer stops working. I made the mistake of paying extra for the timer model but didn't need to as I use mine with a smart timer. I suggest get the non built in timer version and use a smart plug.

No, it will turn of when it reaches the air temperature which you set on the thermostat is reached. If the thermostat is set at max that is very high. When you reach a comfortable temperature in the room slowly turn the thermostat down until you hear a small click, that click is the contacts opening and the heater should now be off until the air temperature drops when there will be another click as the contacts close. Please note that there is what is called a differential between when it switches off and back on of a few degrees. Basically just play with the thermostat until you get a comfortable temperature.
